Bertram Pressl | "Diva"

Bertram Pressl (*1960 in Munich) creates wooden creatures that need to be brought to life.

Forms cut from the wood purely for the purpose of exploring the inner life have developed human proportions almost by themselves, which - although made from one piece - are constantly forming new constellations when detached from each other.

These temporary structures encourage us to awaken associations from memory and to intervene ourselves in order to find new ones.

They can also tempt you to develop your own relationship to the seemingly abstract form.

The elements, which are organically formed from a trunk and can move among each other, are intended to entice you to do so.
